Ask a Question

Question from Wendy:

This has such dim light, it is not working for the area in which it has been installed. Is it the lens design, and if so, are there other lenses available that will allow more light? We have tried every imaginable type of bulb and still can't seem to get enough light from this unit. Or should we just exchange the unit and order something with a reflector?

Answer from Pegasus:

The lens creates a softer light. If you want to increase light output you should use a recessed light without a lens. Yes, a reflector trim would be a good choice.

Question from Bob:

I know this trim is painted, but is it a non-rusting metal (i.e., aluminum) or steel?

Answer from Pegasus:

Bob, Yes, it's die cast aluminum.

Question from Bob:

What material is the trim made out of? Plastic? Steel? Aluminum?

Answer from Pegasus:

The trim is made of metal.

Question from Nate:

How do you change the light bulb?

Answer from Pegasus:

To change the light bulb, you will need to gently remove the trim from the ceiling. Then unscrew the old light bulb and replace.

Question from Paul Phillips:

What is the height top to bottom--how large a vertical space needed to install it in a covered porch ceiling?

Answer from Pegasus:

The amount of space needed to install will be determined by the recessed housing you use not the recessed trim. For this trim, the height is 5-1/8in.

Question from Kelly Ballard:

What is the inside diameter? Is it exactly 5in or less?

Answer from Pegasus:

The inside diameter is 6.25in. This is where the edge of the inner trim meets the glass.
