Addresses my needs perfectly

Submitted by |

I use the rope light to provide soft, indirect light in rooms, i.e., on the top of my drapes' cornice there is a shallow channel running the length of the cornice into which I lay the rope light. The rope light is not visible from any position in the room, but when turned on it casts a soft indirect light up the wall above the cornice. That, in turn, reflects into the room. Perfect for illuminating a room while watching TV %u2014 no glare on the TV. The whiter the painted wall, the whiter light. This rope light is my preferred color %u2014 very close to white. Note, I don't have to install anything; no clips are needed; the rope light just lies (unseen) in that channel. The power cord just drops to the floor, hidden by the drapes.

Pros:
Zero maintenance, absolutely flawless operation and dependability. I used this brand for many years and have never had to replace any.

Cons:
For the use I describe, there are no cons.

Defective product made good

The first one I ordered developed a bad stretch in the middle during installation. Pegasus was quick to issue a Retuned Product Authorization, and expedited the shipping on the replacement so I could finish the kitchen remodel on time.

Great product, high price

As far as product quality, this rope light is awesome. Bright, consistent light, and feels heavy duty. I have seen very similar products at a much lower price since ordering this one. Nonetheless, I'm happy with my purchase.

Pros:
Bright, water-resistant, feels well-made

Cons:
Price

Ambient lighting indoors or out

Submitted by |

I purchased these lights to put beneath a Dining room chair rail offset from the wall, to put above an inset gas fireplace in a polycarbonate holder, and to use outside for stairs lighting mounted beneath the stair banisters. They are reliable and beautiful and easy to use. Because they are so energy efficient, I turn them on each evening until I go to bed as they create atmosphere in a very cost-effective and no heat-generating way. You can plug them together to make longer strands (e.g., I put a 9' and 3' together for a 12' stairs run). The plug is a little big to hide so you have to plan for that. Otherwise, they're exactly what I needed.

Pros:
Appearance when lit Low energy ambient light

Cons:
Plugs are large and hard to hide

Ask a Question

Question from Bob:

I need a 6 ft and a 12 foot so looks like I can order 3 of the 3 ft ones and one of the 9ft ones....so two questions... can I easily connect the lengths to achieve what I need? I recognize that I will have extra plugs. Are these lights dimmable?

Answer from Pegasus:

Yes, the cords can easily be linked together via the couplers at the end of each rope light. The rope lights are dimmable and we recommend using the Lutron Credenza CFL-LED plug-in dimmer that's listed in the Accessories.

Question from HF:

What is the lumens per foot for this product?

Answer from Pegasus:

It emits 34 lumens/foot.

Question from Glenna reese:

I purchased 5 rope lights model lt10-rl10-ca When I took them out of the box none of them will come on. Is there something wrong? Is there something I need to due before I plug them in? One of the fuse rattles in plug is that something I need to tend to

Answer from Pegasus:

Glenna, did you purchase these items from Pegasus Lighting? That does not appear to be our part number. If so, please give us a call and we will be happy to assist you with replacements. If there is a fuse loose, then yes, I would try to situate it correctly to see if that resolves the issue.

Question from darlene felts:

I purchased two 9' warm LED rope lights and the 3' extension to do the two upper kitchen cabinet lighting. confusing..... One of the 9' will be hard wired to switch on wall below cabinet ....attached to 3' extension thru corner wall to the 2nd 9' ....since both of the 9' already have the utility cords ready for plug in ......can it be cut off and capped (is there a end cap???!!!) so the power from the one switch operates both 9'. Do I have to have a j box if I'm NOT going to use a dimmer switch?? Do I need a special connector for one end of the 3' extension since it is male on one end and female on the other !!?? HELP soooo 9' Hard Wired to switch - connected to 3' extension (male pins ???) - connected to 9' (double male pins connector - part # ???) and (END CAP ?? PART # ???)

Answer from Pegasus:

No, there is not an end cap accessory to use for this product. You have to remove the power cord from the second rope light. You do not need to cut it. Here's instructions for linking the products. HOW TO EXTEND ROPELIGHT NOTE: Do not exceed 192_ maximum run distance when interconnecting multiple LR-LED kits together. 1. Turn the plastic end cap counter-clockwise to remove from the first rope light. 2. Remove power cord from the second piece of rope light. 3. Connect both ends of the ropes (the male and female halves plug into each other). Make sure all connectors are firmly tightened and secured. See Figure 2. 4. Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 for any additional kits. 5. Turn the plastic end cap clockwise until it is firmly tightened and secured on the last rope light. I would recommend consulting with an electrician about the proper hardwiring of these products. An electrician will be able to assist you with the proper storage of the splices to make sure your installation is safe.

Question from Linda:

Do you have any that are battery operated. Like with aa batteries??

Answer from Pegasus:

No, we do not have battery operated rope light.

Question from Vincent:

What is the diameter ?

Answer from Pegasus:

The rope light is 0.50in in diameter; threaded coupler used to connect two pieces of rope light together or connect an end cap to a piece of rope is 1-1/8in in diameter.

Question from Teresa Hiatt:

Can I use it on my pontoon boat?

Answer from Pegasus:

I do not think so. The rope light is 120V household line voltage. I would expect the boat to run on low voltage.

Question from Travis:

Is this product a tube? I am attempting to fix it to a L shaped track and only need lights pointed in one direction. The strips I've seen though other companies are flat not round.

Answer from Pegasus:

Yes, the casing is a tube.
