Zero maintenance, absolutely flawless operation and dependability. I used this brand for many years and have never had to replace any.
For the use I describe, there are no cons.

Question from Bob:
Answer from Pegasus:Yes, the cords can easily be linked together via the couplers at the end of each rope light. The rope lights are dimmable and we recommend using the Lutron Credenza CFL-LED plug-in dimmer that's listed in the Accessories.
Question from HF:
Answer from Pegasus:It emits 34 lumens/foot.
Question from Glenna reese:
Answer from Pegasus:Glenna, did you purchase these items from Pegasus Lighting? That does not appear to be our part number. If so, please give us a call and we will be happy to assist you with replacements. If there is a fuse loose, then yes, I would try to situate it correctly to see if that resolves the issue.
Question from darlene felts:
Answer from Pegasus:No, there is not an end cap accessory to use for this product. You have to remove the power cord from the second rope light. You do not need to cut it. Here's instructions for linking the products. HOW TO EXTEND ROPELIGHT NOTE: Do not exceed 192_ maximum run distance when interconnecting multiple LR-LED kits together. 1. Turn the plastic end cap counter-clockwise to remove from the first rope light. 2. Remove power cord from the second piece of rope light. 3. Connect both ends of the ropes (the male and female halves plug into each other). Make sure all connectors are firmly tightened and secured. See Figure 2. 4. Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 for any additional kits. 5. Turn the plastic end cap clockwise until it is firmly tightened and secured on the last rope light. I would recommend consulting with an electrician about the proper hardwiring of these products. An electrician will be able to assist you with the proper storage of the splices to make sure your installation is safe.
Question from Linda:
Answer from Pegasus:No, we do not have battery operated rope light.
Question from Vincent:
Answer from Pegasus:The rope light is 0.50in in diameter; threaded coupler used to connect two pieces of rope light together or connect an end cap to a piece of rope is 1-1/8in in diameter.
Question from Teresa Hiatt:
Answer from Pegasus:I do not think so. The rope light is 120V household line voltage. I would expect the boat to run on low voltage.
Question from Travis:
Answer from Pegasus:Yes, the casing is a tube.
