Ask a Question

Question from Ted:

Will they fit in a 2x8 joist (vaulted ceiling)?

Answer from Pegasus:

Ted: Yes. The can is adjustable for 2 x 8 construction. In addition, the height of the can including the bar hangers is 7 inches and this housing can be used anywhere from a 2/12 to 6/12 pitched ceiling.

Question from Mia:

Can I use a PAR38 LED in this, the wattage is only 20 watts?

Answer from Pegasus:

No, this housing accepts A19 or PAR30 light bulbs. PAR38 would be too wide.

Question from Rich:

Can I use a 14w LED PAR 30 bulb in this? Is it dimmable?

Answer from Pegasus:

Yes you can use an LED light bulb. If the light bulb is dimmable, then you can certainly dim it.

Question from Dennis Scearce:

I need an can that will protrude 1 5/8 inches beyond the face of the joist. Is this can adjustable to do that?

Answer from Pegasus:

Dennis, I am not sure exactly what part of the fixture you are wanting to protrude 1-5/8in and exactly what you mean by beyond the face of the joist. I hope this answer helps clear up the dimensions. The bar hangers adjust from 13-5/8in to 24in to accommodate different joist spacing. The can adjusts to work with sloped ceilings with angles from 1 to 27 degrees. The dimensions of the housing are 7.0in high x 9.5in wide x 13.0in long. Your ceiling thickness should be between 5/8in and 1-3/8in.

Question from Jeremy Oliverio:

Only have 5.5 spacing. When it is on the angle will it fit?

Answer from Pegasus:

The housing is 7in in height, so no, it will not fit.

Question from Don Allard:

Hello. The ceiling is a 9 pitch, will this can work with such a steep angle?

Answer from Pegasus:

No, it will not. It will work for 2/12 to 6/12 pitched ceilings.

Question from Emmette:

How does the trim attach to the light fixture? Springs or where two wires are bent up into the fixture and clip into place?

Answer from Pegasus:

This housing can accepts trims that attach with either springs or clips.
