It's IC rated, so you can safely place it alongside or directly underneath ceiling insulation. Use this recessed housing in new construction or where there is access above the insulated ceiling.

What is the recommended spacing for a bedroom ceiling 8' height? The room is in an attic and the ceiling is shaped like this: /- 2 angled walls meeting a 48in wide ceiling.
