Ask a Question

Question from John:

Can this be installed in the floor?

Answer from Pegasus:

No, I would not recommend installing in the floor. These step lights are meant for installation into walls only.

Question from Steve Wichmann:

Do you have any photometrics for this product? I do not see any in your specs.

Answer from Pegasus:

Steve, no we do not have photometrics for the step lights.

Question from Peter:

On a 4' tall retaining wall how far apart I should space the lights?

Answer from Pegasus:

Peter, the manufacturer recommends spacing every 3ft and keeping the lights 1-1.5ft above the ground.

Question from Peter:

If I need only 7 of this lights how do you recommend to dim them?

Answer from Pegasus:

Peter, I spoke with WAC Lighting, the manufacturer, about the dimming and minimum load issue. In general, Lutron's ELV dimmers require a min load of 40W. If you do not meet that load requirement, WAC suggests using Lutron's Skylark SELV-300P. WAC has tested this specific dimmer with a single step light and found it dims from 100-10% without issue. Since you intend to install 7 step lights, which is below the 40W min load, I would advise using the Skylark dimmer. I hope this helps!

Question from Jim:

I purchased six of the above step lights. The instructions for this light indicate to use an Electronic Low Voltage Dimmer (ELV). What dimmer should be used? The dimmer would be connected to 120 line voltage, not a 12-24V transformer. I'm confused as to which dimmer to use. Thank you.

Answer from Pegasus:

Jim, you need to use an ELV dimmer - The dimmer will connect to your line voltage and then in turn connect to the light fixtures. The step light has a built in driver (similar to a transformer) and WAC Lighting, the manufacturer, recommends dimming with ELV dimmers.

Question from Francis Robin:

How many of these lights is minimally required if I still want them to be dimmable? Thank you.

Answer from Pegasus:

Francis, For best dimming performance, you'll need to meet the dimmer's minimum wattage requirement. For example, if the dimmer requires a minimum load of 30W, then you would need to connect 8 step lights to the dimmer.

Question from Mike:

Does this mount on a standard single gang box?

Answer from Pegasus:

Mike, It installs in a 2in x 4in junction box with minimum inside dimensions of 2in(H) x 2in(W) x 3in(L).

Question from Rose:

Can I install just a single light? Is it still dimmable if only one light?

Answer from Pegasus:

Rose, yes you can install a single light. The manufacturer recommends using Lutron SELV-300P for dimming a single step light.
