Unbelievable Value

Submitted by |

I can't imagine this value can be beat if you are looking for a recessed LED fixture. We have WAC fixtures that were upwards of 8 times the price and don't perform as well. They are solid, produce a lot of light and are fully dimmable. I simply don't see how you can go wrong.

Pros:
A great value Bright Dimmable Look great Easy installation

Cons:
They seem to be a bit sensitive to what I think is power fluctuations (we live in a NYC apartment with limited supply)

Not for the amateurs

First off the 3-3/8in hole is too small for my hand. Which makes it hard to pull other cables to next hole. I bought 8 of these and daisy changed 6 together. The knock out locations, which there are many of them, only one is clear for the star nut to lock down. The transformer is mounted in the single gang box and the mount doesn't allow for the second usable K-O location to spin the star nut. I had to loosen one side of the transformer mount to tighten. I had to play the hole to a sweet spot to lock down the can to the drywall. The springs on the LED pod are over engineered for the use. I would be concerned to remove the pod once installed because of the tension.

Pros:
Cheap, throws good light. Great slide in wire connectors.

Cons:
Cheap, difficult to install. Could be designed to be user friendly. Can't say how they will last. Last question: Would you recommend this item to a friend? Well I'd give them fair warning.

Question from Joan Hirchert:

When will this recessed light (in white) be available? I need delivery next week! Thanks...

Answer from Pegasus:

The manufacturer tells us it will be available in early July. I'm sorry it will not be available for next week.

Question from Kim Crowley:

Can this be installed in a damp location?

Answer from Pegasus:

Yes, it's ETL listed for damp locations.

Question from John:

Are there wall-wash trim kits available for these fixtures?

Answer from Pegasus:

No, we do not have this product in a wall wash style.

Question from Mike:

What size hole must be drilled in the ceiling?

Answer from Pegasus:

Mike, a 3-3/8in cutout is recommended.

Question from Mylvia Z Ventura:

Can the LEDs be replaced?

Answer from Pegasus:

No, they are integrated into the light fixture and cannot be replaced.

Question from John Albin:

Do you have to keep the insulation that is in the attic away from housing?

Yes - since this housing is non-IC rated, you must keep insulation at least 3in from the housing.
