Not suitable for my purpose

Submitted by |

I selected these bulbs for a 6 light chandelier in my dining room which has deep red walls and the light from these bulbs are not at all pleasing to me. i have them on a dimmer but at the maximum intensity the light given off is cold, too dim and uninviting. I switched them with another set of LED bulbs from another chandelier with slightly better results. I am still not pleased and always have to turn on a lamp to supplement the light. The room depresses me unless I use the additional light.

Love these lights!

These lights are awesome! We use them for an outdoor residential lamp post and the light is very clean. I'd recommend these for either indoor or outdoor use.

Best bulbs out there

I recently replaced 6 old 40 watt incandescent bulbs with these new LED bulbs on a light fixture that we have on most of the time. We immediately noticed the difference in the brightness of the light and I'm sure our light bill will reflect significant changes (240 watts before to now only 30 watts). I will be buying more to replace other bulbs in our house.

Pros:
Great pure white daylight ..energy savings...very very low heat

Good product for changing to LED

While spouse was not pleased with the color or shadow for her application, the bulbs were excellent and should be pleasing in other applications.

No worries

These bulbs give off great light and I won't have to worry about the bulbs burning out. They will last for years. They were so much fatter than I had imagined, that I couldn't use them where I intended, but they did fit in our porch ceiling fan that takes three bulbs. We rent this beach home out weekly and the more LED bulbs I put in the house, the lower the electric bills will be. People vacationing are having a good time and aren't counting kwh!

Pros:
Give off great light Will last for years and years

Cons:
much bigger in diameter than I had imagined.

Ask a Question

Question from William:

Could I use one of these lamps inside small box type fixture enclosure for a back light display? Making a bunch of custom displays and need a small lamp to light it up from inside.

Answer from Pegasus:

William, I would not recommend these light bulbs. They are not suitable for use in totally enclosed light fixtures. Thank you.

Question from Joyce Beason:

Is this a pkg of 2 or is it just one bulb per pkg? The picture shows 2 bulbs so I wasn't sure of the qty.

Answer from Pegasus:

It is one light bulb per pack. The image shows the two different options - clear or frosted bulb.

Question from Darlene:

We are looking to replace lights for a chandelier that call for max. 60 W incandescent bulbs type B. Would these work? The description states equivalent to 25 W incandescent....I was under the impression that a 5 W LED is closer to a 40 W incandescent equivalent.....is that correct?

Answer from Pegasus:

Darlene, Yes, these should work in your chandelier. Wattages for LEDs do not equate to a specific incandescent equivalent. You must compare lumen output to determine equivalency. This item is equivalent to a 25W incandescent.
