Unless you want to bend the metal these are not ideal for horizontal mount. I had to add some extra wood to create a mounting surface. The original mounts allow for direct horizontal mounts. Several of the ones I received were a bit rusty - not that anyone will see them, but they shouldn't be rusty considering they are sold as stainless steal. They get the job done, just not as good or the original clips sold with the lights. Lastly, nothing here that I saw said they were sold in pairs. So I bought too many.
This clip is not interchangeable with the ones that come with each Microfluorescent T5 Light Fixture. I bought four T5 fixtures for an under-cabinet kitchen installation, and found I had only six clips. Two clips are needed for each fixture, so I ordered two of the Vertical/Horizontal clips. They have screw holes to mount horizontally, but do not have holes to mount vertically. The company should sell extra vertical clips like those included with the T5 fixtures.
While there are only 2 screw holes on this clip, you can position the clip either vertically or horizontally.
Clips are small, simple, and straightforward as to what they are and do. I was a little confused at first because each clip only came with one mounting screw - you must use the mounting screw that comes with the vertical clips (with the light) as the second. They can also be a little challenging to get the light mounted initially, because the clip flexes as you press the light into it.
Pros: Small Firm grip on light Simple
Cons: Tight grip can make installing light challenging
I purchase some similar lighting products from a local store and they were much slower and a lot more expensive than Pegasus. Your Pegasus website is easy to use and the product specifications are readily available. Your prices are lower and your shipping is fast. Great service, keep up the good work!
Pros: These stainless clips are good quality and really hold the Jesco T5 Microfluorescent lights (also from Pegasus) neatly and securely under my new kitchen cabinets.
Is this mounting clip what is used to mount the fixture? Do we need two per fixture? We intend to construct a daylight ceiling using about 36,000 lumens indirect to produce 15,000 lumens at waist level. Fixtures will be behind a cove
