Question from J:

What is the difference between instant start and programmed start?

Answer from Pegasus:

Programmed start ballasts are ideal for applications where the lights are turned on/off frequently. An example would be a laundry room. They provide maximum light bulb rated life in these type of applications. Instant start ballasts are ideal for applications where the lights are left on for long periods of time and not turned on/off frequently. They are the most energy efficient ballasts.
