Add these LED lights to your deck, fence, or porch for soft accent lighting. They turn on automatically when the sun sets and will increase to full brightness when motion is detected. The deck lights are battery operated and simple to install.
Motion Sensor Range: covers 160 degree by 30ft range
Needed some type of light to illuminate a slight rise where our deck meets a concrete stoop that created a tripping hazard. Looked at several different options then found this. Perfect solution. LED, battery powered, multiple brightness and time settings. Looks great at night on the low setting and brightens when motion is detected for a set time. Very pleased, exactly what I was looking for and even comes in bronze that matches our flat brown trim. No power adapters to worry about, no plugs and outstanding battery life. Highly recommended!

I did a vast amount of hunting for an out door walkway LED lighting solution, that does not rely on Solar! Believe it or not, its not that easy anymore, but solar lighting does not work in the cold north, where the cold limits the battery life, the snow covers the panels, and the shorter days limit the amount of solar energy in the first place. I was looking for a 12v solution, that I could guarantee power for, but most of them require counter sinking, which isn't a solution for 6x6 fence posts. These battery operated lights actually work out to be a great solution. They were very easy to install, (after a trip to Costco for a couple of packs of "C" batteries - they take 3 each) and all 8 of mine worked perfectly out of the box. They give off a nice glow, but when they detect movement, they light up the pathway very nicely. I have to admit, these really do work as advertised and have solved an issue for me. It remains to be seen if the "C" batteries will survive our winter, but I can always wire them up next spring if I find the cold reduces the battery power too much, but I have hope, as LEDs take so little power. Price wise, I have seen these units go for as much as $50 each, so this was also the best price around!
Pros: Best price, Best features, Non solar reliant
Cons: Case is larger than others to accommodate batteries
The LED Battery Operated Motion Deck Light lights are PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT for me. Not only is there no hard wiring necessary because they run on 3 C batteries. They are also so convenient to attach with only a couple of screws. But the BEST part is they WORK. I have 2 flights of open stairs to my front door. The motion detection is activated to light my way up those stairs on dark winter nights. I recently got a couple more and am able to have lights in my back yard and guide me to my greenhouse. I LOVE them.
Pros: Works Great!
Cons: Replace battery after a year and half (but this is really not a con)

I have a raised deck with a flight of stairs to the ground (about 14 steps). I have one of these lights at the top of the stairs, two more lights half-way down (one on each side post), and one at the bottom of the steps. When my spaniel goes out to relieve himself after dark, the lights activate as he walks down the steps. These lights are great for this situation, and I also like the look!
We installed these as deck stair lights and also for our outdoor wheelchair lift. I'm including a picture of the lift with the lights. They worked all winter on the original batteries and brutal Chicago winter. I used to be afraid someone would walk off the end of our deck, but mounting one of these on the top railing post illuminates the stairs clearly. I plan to buy more this summer for the back door.
Great lights. We put them on a back patio area that we need lit only when coming in and out of the gate. These were a cinch to install. The whole transaction from the ordering to the delivery was perfect -- great communication and fast shipping. Very pleased.
We purchased these lights to replace one that had been stolen from our mailbox. The lights offer a bright illumination when someone walks or drives by the mailbox and dims down to provide a nice security light when no one is in the area. We liked them so much that we've purchased additional lights to place along the path to our front porch. This is a very good product that is offered at a very good price.
Cons: It would be great if there was a means of screwing the back onto the wood to make it more secure.
Purchased several different sets of battery operated outdoor weather resistant LED lights. After testing them for 2 weeks this set of lights came out on top by far in all areas. Such as brightness, quality, all of them worked, and length of time each light stayed on. In fact I've had them on in a dark room for 2 weeks and they are still going strong! The rest have already used up there batteries. I now feel confident putting them outside. Their brightness and consistence should keep my family safe on our outdoor steps. I will be purchasing more for my parent's steps to install at their home for the holidays. Will make a great gift.
From reading other reviews, I was concerned about the brightness as I needed to put in 6 areas where my deck has different levels (including three sets of stairs with 4 steps). I didn't want to spend a lot of money putting in low-voltage lighting because of the cost, time, and work it would incur crawling around under the huge deck and making permanent cuts into the wood/decking. These work perfectly - the night light provides the perfect amount of light to show those areas, and the motion-sensor bright light covers a great distance and turns the 'bright' light on well in advance of anyone approaching a step (or steps). The light is certainly bright enough to cover the steps and has really helped. I can't comment on the battery life, but I am thoroughly satisfied with the lights. Per a previous review and accompanying picture, the key is to place the lights about 2-3 feet over the steps - I placed mine on posts. Can't comment on the battery life yet.
Pros: Good light and great motion sensor.
Cons: Perhaps a little too deep - but that has to happen with 3 C-cell batteries per light.
We bought to provide a temporary solution for a very dark front entry stairway. The homeowners association is giving us headaches while we meanwhile have an unsafe entry to our home. We are testing the lights, but I am quite pleased. We may order some more and keep them outside, but if we do replace them outside, we will definitely move them inside and use in stairway areas in the house. They are perfect stair lights.
Pros: Excellent price, good light output. It's not bright, but it is ample to see the steps easily. Very effective motion detector, attractive design (ours is behind an iron handrail).
Cons: I'd like to get them in white as well for inside the house.
We had a bad fall from an owner within our building so looking for a no fuss, attractive, automatic light that would illuminate the stairs which were very hard to see at night. I stumbled upon these lights and since they appeared to be such an inexpensive option, it seemed worthwhile to at least give them a go since no wiring was needed. We live in a very harsh environment right on the coast on a barrier island, subject to storms, intense sun, wind, driving rain, not to mention salt air corrosion potential. So these lights were going to get the full test on ALL fronts. I was pleasantly surprised at just how nice they looked in the bronze finish. You could not immediately tell they were plastic. They appeared very well-made, especially considering the cost. I bought TWO lights and it only took me about 30 minutes to install them alongside our stairs. One thing I recommend highly, is to coat that battery compartment for the C Batteries with WD-40 or some other corrosion protector. I just sprayed all the metal contacts as well as the batteries with WD-40 on install. Well, it's been OVER ONE YEAR and these lights have been ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! They have survived a coastal winter, a raging hot and humid summer, and another fall. We've had torrential downpours, winds in up to 60mph, and all sorts of conditions. Amazingly, these great lights have not skipped a single beat! They come on exactly at the right time, when lights are needed, and go off when it's light out. As soon as it detects motion, the light does great work putting a nice glow on the stairs. I can't tell you how happy I am with this solution. Not only that, but we have had numerous people comment on them, asking where they were purchased. And they look as good today as they did when I installed them. But I've saved one of the best things for last. YES, THEY ARE ON THE ORIGINAL SET OF BATTERIES I put in when they were installed! We are OVER 14 months and counting now on ONE SET OF C Batteries! I'm convinced the WD-40 of the parts also helped here. I can't recommend these lights any more enthusiastically. Definitely going to get some more! Thanks for an all too rare product that actually EXCEEDS expectations on all levels. Well-Done.
I have a landing between my front door and a door to my home office. Sometimes I start working while it is light but it gets dark before I remember to turn on the porch light. I just mounted it between the two doors and it works great to give off low light until it detects motion and then it brightens to give enough light to approach the stairs. Works when someone comes up the stairs. I wish they were less expensive because I would buy a few more if there were a price drop. I think that it is nice looking - it is near my black mailbox and looks like a good match (even though it is called bronze - it looks black).
Pros: Very sensitive to motion so it brightens as would be expected. Looks nice, easy to install.
I pretty rarely do reviews but I just noticed these things out on my patio just doing there job as intended and so I felt I'd leave a note. They aren't the brightest in the world but do provide a little bit of ambient light and/or safety lighting...they're great. So far the initial 3 C batteries in any of my 4 units have not died after a few months so battery life seems solid. They've also been subject to some ridiculous heavy rain and have had no issues. I used scotch tape extreme grip outdoor (or something like that) double-sided tape to post them to the wall outside.
Pros: Battery Life, Good Looking, Easy to Use
Cons: A bit of a cheap and finnicky product, not exactly the brightest lights in the world
