Question from DMC:

Can I use this outside as a light over my garage?

Answer from Pegasus:

It's suitable for use in damp locations. It can be installed outdoors as long as it's protected from direct water spray, e.g. rain.

Question from Hanae:

Can I use Toshiba 8.6-Watt Dimmable LED PAR20 Light Bulb, Narrow Flood on this 4in line voltage recessed lighting trim?

Answer from Pegasus:

Yes, you can use the LED light bulb with the trim.

Question from Nick:

Could I used a PAR20 LED bulb with this fixture?

Answer from Pegasus:

Nick, Absolutely!

Question from Paul:

Are these fixtures IC rated?

Answer from Pegasus:

Paul, These trims can be used with IC housings or with remodel housings.

Question from Nabil:

Hello, I am thinking of using this Trim on a sloped ceiling that is 20 Feet high. Is the light sufficient from that height? I considered an MR16 trim but have been told from such a height the lighting will not be sufficient?! Thanks

Answer from Pegasus:

Nabil, For a ceiling that is 20ft high, I would recommend using a housing & trim that uses a higher wattage lamp than this. Also, make sure your housing & trim are designed for sloped ceilings. I would recommend this trim because it can use up to a 90W PAR38 halogen - a very bright light bulb. http://www.pegasuslighting.com/6inch-recessed-lighting-trim-open-gimbal-sloped-ceiling-par38.html

Question from Bob:

Hi, Will this product stand up to coastal climate if located under a soffit? It would still be exposed to somewhat salty air. I don't mind some oxidation of aluminum surfaces and that is the finish I prefer.

Answer from Pegasus:

The housings used with this trim are rated for damp locations. I would be most concerned about the amount of moisture the light fixture would be exposed to under a soffit. My suggestion would be to look for an IP66 rated housing or one that is suitable for wet locations. Unfortunately, we do not carry an IP66 housing.

Question from Lee:

Can I use this trim kit with a Halo H99ICAT housing ?

Answer from Pegasus:

Lee, We strongly recommend using this trim with a housing from the same manufacturer (see accessories tab for compatible housings). There are a few reasons for this. First of all, mixing manufacturers will generally void the warranty and UL listing for both trim & housing. Also, it is not certain that the trim will fit perfectly in a housing from a different manufacturer.

Question from ST:

What are the maximum dimensions of the PAR20 that can be used with this to still be able to tilt for a sloped ceiling or art wall wash?

Answer from Pegasus:

Any PAR20 bulb that follows ANSI (standard) dimensions will be acceptable. PAR20 bulbs are 2.5in in diameter and length is approximately 3.25in.

Question from Steve:

I am assuming the 4" measures the diameter of the glass for the bulb. What is the full diameter of the trim from edge to edge?

Answer from Pegasus:

The outside diameter, or full diameter, is 5in.
