Ask a Question

Question from Jeff:

Are linear or spread lenses available for this product?

Answer from Pegasus:

We do offer both an MR16 spread and linear lens that will fit this recessed light. To view both options please visit http://www.pegasuslighting.com/lenses.html.

Question from Mark:

What is the hole diameter necessary for the housing for these trims? Also, will they work with GU10 bulbs?

Answer from Pegasus:

Mark, The cutout diameter for the compatible housings is 3in. It's a low voltage product so GU10 base light bulbs, which are 120V, will not work. You need to use a 12V MR16 GU5.3 base.

Question from Jamie:

Are these IC rated?

Answer from Pegasus:

When used with a compatible IC rated house, yes, this recessed light is suitable for contact with insulation.

Question from Milt:

I need two low watt lights to be recessed on an outdoor fireplace mantel shinning up to light up some sort of a picture on the chimney right above. Can these be mounted up and ok for rain to hit them or are they not sealed good enough. Also do you have any ideas on which ones I could use. Thanks Milt

Answer from Pegasus:

Milt, these are not designed to point up and I would not recommend them for your application. All of our recessed lights must be pointed down for correct heat dissipation. Pointing them up can cause them to overheat. I would suggest checking out our up lights page. The last 3 items on the page would be acceptable to place outdoors shining upward. http://www.pegasuslighting.com/up-lights.html

Question from Matt Stancile:

Can this be used outdoors?

Answer from Pegasus:

Matt, It can be used in damp locations when installed in a compatible housing also rated for damp locations. As long as it's not exposed to direct water spray, then it should be fine outdoors.

Question from Mat:

How do I change this bulb?

Answer from Pegasus:

Mat, Gently pull the trim down from the ceiling, detach the socket from the back of the light bulb and replace.
