Is this the appropriate bulb to use in a sewing machine? I have a euro pro sewing machine that calls for a 5W replacement , but does not state the voltage. It has the wedge base. Also, is this a nice bright white illumination?

Do you have an old bulb from the sewing machine that might have any info on it?
I would strongly suggest contacting the manufacturer to figure out the voltage required for the light bulb.
Yes, xenon light bulbs emit bright white light.
