About our 32-Inch Xenon Low Voltage Under Cabinet Task Lights

These dimmable xenon low voltage (12v) under cabinet task lights will enhance your kitchen, office, or work space with dramatic lighting that will make performing tasks easier. The white finish blends into any space.

  • 1 Model:

    32.0in long
    72 watts
    4 xenon light bulbs
  • Attractive White Finish
  • Low Profile: 1.5in(H) x 4-3/8in(W)
  • Even Light Distribution: stippled tempered glass diffuser provides even light distribution for the entire length of the light fixture and ensures that the area below is uniformly lit and does not have "hot spots" of well-lit areas separated by dark areas
  • Lightweight Aluminum Frame: with color-matched injection molded plastic end caps for weight efficiency and consistency of finish

  • Xenon Light Bulb(s) Included: 18 watt, 12-volt, T5, Xenon Wedge Base Lamp(s) are supplied with each fixture (T5 means that the lamp is 5/8in in diameter).
  • Wattage of Light Bulb: 18 watts
  • Excellent Color Rendering: Color Rendering Index (CRI) is 100 for all xenon light bulbs [Note: a value of 100 is considered to be the best.]
  • Long Lamp Life: rated life is 10,000 hours on average. The typical halogen lamp is generally rated at about 2,000 hours.
  • Low Operating Temperature: gives off less heat than a comparable halogen light bulb
  • Easy Lamp Handling: unlike a halogen light bulb, the glass envelope of a xenon light bulb may be touched with bare hands (while the lamp is cool, of course) without causing the lamp to fail prematurely
  • Easy Relamping: hinged glass access door with captive thumb screw allows for easy tool-free relamping

  • Transformer Included: an integral 12-volt electronic transformer is included
  • Hi/Lo/Off Switch Included: a pre-installed hi/lo/off rocker switch provides 2 levels of lighting brightness
  • Switching: when these xenon under cabinet task lights are linked together, an individual fixture may be adjusted by the hi/lo/off fixture switch without affecting the other fixtures. Additionally, if multiple fixtures are hardwired to power, then they may be controlled by a single wall switch as long as the three position switch on each fixture is left in the “hi” or “lo” position.
  • Linkable: there are 3 ways to connect (link) these Xenon Low Voltage Emily Under Cabinet Task Lights together electrically.
    1) End-to-End - They can be connected end-to-end directly to each other using direct connectors
    2) Flexible Connectors - They can be linked together across a short distance using Flexible Connectors. Flexible connectors are available in three different lengths (12in, 18in, and 24in).
    3) Household Wire - They can be connected using the appropriate household wire, cable connectors, and the knockouts for each task light.
  • Dimmable: if these Xenon Low Voltage Under Cabinet Task Lights are hardwired to power, they are fully dimmable using a dimmer that has been designed to control an electronic low voltage transformer. If these fixtures receive power by being plugged into an electrical receptacle, they are fully dimmable if the cord & plug set is plugged into the top socket of a dual wall receptacle, for which only the top socket is controlled by a dimmer. This will leave the bottom socket available with full power for other electrical appliances.

  • Easy to Install: please refer to these Installation Instructions (PDF). [Caution: Always check local electrical codes and the National Electrical Code (NEC) before installing any lighting products. It is also wise to consult with a licensed electrician in your geographical area about any electrical details that you might have questions about and to make certain that you are satisfying all of the appropriate electrical codes.]
  • Easy to Wire: can be either hardwired directly to power or plugged into the nearest wall receptacle using a 6-foot cord & plug set that is supplied with each fixture
  • Installation Difficulty: rated 2 out of 5 (2 = Pretty easy.)

  • Spare Light Bulbs: spare replacement xenon light bulbs are recommended
  • Direct Connectors: for end-to-end linking
  • Flexible Connectors: for linking across short distances or around corners
  • Lutron Electronic Low Voltage Dimmers

Under cabinet looks great

Ordered two lights an 8" & 24%u201D the small one had a small break but was usable and the 24 had been damaged, the glass and part of the light were broken. We called Pegasus customer service and explained what happened. The customer service rep was very helpful and they immediately sent two replacement lights. Great customer service! I%u2019m sometimes leery of online ordering, but would not hesitate to use Pegasus again. After shopping some of the big box stores we couldn%u2019t find what we wanted and associates had very little knowledge about the lighting they did sell. We found these lights Pegasus and the lights were just what we were looking for. The quality is good and the information provided from the site was helpful and we think the price is good. The only issue I had was the box was a little tight to hardwire to the switch and another wire to series the two together. I ended up hardwiring to the switch and purchasing one of the connecting cords from Pegasus and that worked just fine.
Did what we wanted. Good service. Good quality & good price.

Questions & Answers
By Fred W. from Chicago on May 21, 2014
When linking the units does the flexible connector carry 120 VAC or 24 VAC? I'm asking because I need to run wire across a window to link to a unit, then from there across the room to link other units. High voltage (120VAC) wiring is not supposed to run inside walls, ceilings or soffits - it must be low voltage.
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on May 21, 2014

Flexible connectors carry the input voltage in the system. In this case, that is 120V.

Each fixture has an integral transformer that steps down the 120V to 12V.
By Grant from Chicago, IL on May 21, 2014

That flexible cord is passing 120 volts. Think of it this way........the fixture has a 75 watt transformer, powering 4 > 18 watt bulbs totaling 72 watts of demand. There is next to nothing left to power any additional bulbs, so there's no passing the 12 volt connection.

Can this fixture be used in a rv 12vdc system?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on January 3, 2014

No, it cannot because it has an integral transformer that requires an input of 120V.
By Jeff from Manassas, VA on January 4, 2014

This light is set up for line voltage, 120 v AC. The line voltage is stepped down through a transformer which may be able to be bi-passed. This would be a question for Tech support to verify. I can say this is a very well made light and I am very pleased with it.
