About our 35 Watt - 12 Volt - Halogen Light Bulb - MR16 - GU5.3 Base - 3000 Hour - SoLux®

These authentic SoLux® daylight 35-watt MR16 12-volt halogen light bulbs have a color rendition that is identical to daylight. Designed to illuminate art/oil paintings, jewelry/crystal, and photography studios, they provide an unparalleled quality of light with minimal UV emission.

CAUTION: Some so-called "SoLux" low voltage MR16 lamps now in the marketplace are counterfeit. That is, they are simply standard low voltage MR16 lamps with no special characteristics. Our SoLux® lamps, on the other hand, are authentic and, therefore, have a very high CRI along with very low UV and IR transmission characteristics. Please be careful what you purchase.

Testing for Color Temperature
March 12, 2013
I have purchased 6 SoLux bulbs to test: 2 ( 3500k ) 2 ( 4100k ) & 2 ( 4700k) for photographic set-ups. Three of these bulbs were purchased directly from the SoLux web site. My tests seem to confirm other independent tests I have found on the Internet, in 5 of the 6 bulbs. These SoLux bulbs generally produced color temperatures 30% lower than the rated Kelvin values in my test set-up. The one exception was a 4100k bulb which produced color temperatures about 500k lower than the 2 (3500k) SoLux bulbs. These are not bad halogen bulbs, they just did not match the advertised kelvin ratings in my testing.
Visually, a beautiful bulb to look at.
My test data did not match the marketing claims.

Questions & Answers
By Lev from Yagur, Israel on January 22, 2014
Dear Sir/Madam,
We would like to order 5-10 lamps Solux@35-Watt and Solux@50-Watt-12-Volt MR16 for test and evaluation.
In this connection:
- Does spectral distribution the same for both 35 and 50W lamps?
- Do you have spectral distribution data for these lamps up to 1000 nm?

Thank you!

By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on January 22, 2014

Thanks for your question.

Yes, spectral distribution is the same for 35W and 50W lamps in the same color temperature.

No, we do not have spectral data up to 1000nm.
