About our ReadyBright™ Power Outage Flashlight

During a power failure, this Power Outage Flashlight serves as an automatic night light, detachable flashlight, and signal for other lights around the house. It plugs into an electrical outlet and lights up during a power outage. When removed from the wall socket, it continues to operate as a flashlight. When used in conjunction with our LED Power Outage Ceiling Lights or LED Power Outage Path lights, it sends a signal to turn those lights on.

  • Lights Turn On When There Is a Power Outage: Power Outage Flashlight automatically lights up during a power failure and sends a radio frequency signal to turn on any the Battery Operated LED Path & Ceiling Lights.
  • Auto Shut Off: once activated during a power failure, the lights will automatically turn off after 30 minutes to conserve battery life. To keep the lights on, simply press the unit's “on” button.
  • Use as Flashlight: during a power outage the flashlight is automatically activated and will continue to operate when removed from the wall socket. [Note: the Power Outage Flashlight should not be used as a night light because the battery will not charge when the flashlight is turned “on”.]
  • Expandable: one Power Outage Flashlight can control up to 30 individual power outage LED light fixtures. Moreover, you can have multiple Power Outage Flashlights since they do not interfere with each other and there is no limit to the number of detectors that can be installed in a space.
  • On/Off Buttons: a single on/off button controls the flashlight feature. One “on” button and one “off” button also controls the LED path and ceiling lights.
  • Dimensions: only 2.75in(W) x 5in(H) x 1.25in(D)

  • LED: provides bright white light during a power failure
  • Light Output: 20 lumens

  • Rechargeable Battery Included: uses one 3.6-volt NiMH battery
  • Good Battery Life: expected battery life of up to 40 hours during a power outage. A red LED indicates when batteries need to be replaced.

  • Easy to Install: simply plug the flashlight into a wall receptacle and then install any ceiling or path lights intended to be controlled. Please refer to these Installation Instructions (PDF).
  • Wireless Signal Limit: in order for the Power Outage Flashlight to operate properly, path and ceiling lights must be installed within 100ft if there are no obstructions or within 70ft if there is a wall or floor between the light and the detector. Note that more walls, floors, or other obstructions (especially made of cement or metal) between the ceiling light and the detector will further reduce the distance the signal can travel.

READYBRIGHT Power Outage Flashlight
January 15, 2013
I bought this flashlight as a Christmas present for my in-laws to plug in down in the basement. If the power goes out they will still be able to see. The flashlight is bright. I haven't had a power outage to test yet. I recently just purchased a "whole house" set of the ReadyBright lights for my niece as a house warming present. I love the concept that leaving this flashlight plugged in will signal the other ReadyBright lights and TURN THEM ON...She is a single mom of two young children and I know this will help them to relax in the event of a power outage... Thank You , ThankYou, Thank You...
Love that it is a CHARGED FLASHLIGHT... Also, the concept that it WILL SIGNAL ALL the other ReadyBright lights to turn on in the event of a power outage.
None so far...

Questions & Answers

Does this operate as a traditional night light with sensor or is it only for power outage?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on November 18, 2013

It operates as a power outage light AND it has an on/off switch for the flashlight. It does not have a photocell that automatically turns it on when it's dark.

Does the plug in portion of the flashlight swivel or does it require that the outlet receptacle have the ground in the bottom position? At the end of the day, I would like to have the flashlight shine upwards (like in your presentation), however I have an older house which it was customary to install receptacle ground in the top position. I can rotate the receptacle 180 degrees, however that would mean it would be the only receptacle in a different orientation in my house.

The plug is not polarized, so you should be able to point it in either direction.
By Vonnie from Beaver, PA on June 9, 2013

I just checked my Flashlight. It will Plug In Both Ways on my outlets. As the previous customer said it does "not" have the third prong. Hope this Helps!
