Good product

This is a nice, light, attractive art light. It works perfectly for our painting, which is about 26" square. Large paintings might require more light.

Great little light

Came in a timely manner. The twin bulbs do a nice job of lighting a large picture.
Good light. Nice finish.
Could use a little more adjustability.

Nice quality. Works great on a picture of 30 wide 46 long. We have an elegant home and this simply works. I am actually surprised at the quality for the price.

It's not bad either

Just like the 7-inch version of this light, this casts a warm, flattering light but it seems a little flimsy.
Better than halogens or LED.
Cheap materials.

Great Customer Service
January 2, 2014
I haven't installed the picture light yet. I need to figure out how to attach it to the cement wall. Perhaps glue will do it. Upon receiving my light, one of the lights were bad. I called customer service and they could not have been more apologetic. They even sent me two replacements. I just cannot wait until I put the light above my painting. I believe it is the best one I have ever created.

A great light

The painting light is bright without being harsh. It was easy to install and adds interest to the painting. It is attractive but doesn't draw attention to itself. I would recommend this light to anyone.
Easy to install. Attractive.

Excellent Light
September 13, 2012
I finally gave up on the LED alternatives and I am so pleased that I did. This light was well packaged and was easy to attach to the back of my frame. It provides a "warm" light to the framed photo which is 36" width x 20" height. Very pleased with the quality of the light.

Questions & Answers
By D from Detroit, MI on October 20, 2014
Can this attach to the wall?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on October 20, 2014

Yes, absolutely. You can attach to a wall or frame.
By Abby from San Diego on October 20, 2014

Yes! Screws included.
By Mike B. from Reston, VA on October 20, 2014

Yes, it would attach to a wall as easily as it attaches to the back of a picture frame.
By Sara from Portland, OR on October 21, 2014

This light fixture can attach to a wall and needs to be close to an outlet to plug in.
By Cheryl from Tenino, WA on October 22, 2014

I purchased 2 of these picture lights and attached both of them to the wall not the picture frame. They were easy to do and work beautifully. The sliding light can be extended to position it where you want the most light on the painting. I am very happy with the price and the lights. Wish I had found this site
sooner and not wasted money on battery operated lights that don't do the job and die every other day!!
By Leo from Grand Portage, MN on October 25, 2014

The mount can be attached to the wall and will be behind the picture.

How long does the arm extend? Hoping to use on top of a bookcase that is 18cm/11inches deep. Thanks in advance for your response!
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on August 4, 2014

The max extension of the arm is 7in.
By Brian from Near Nashville, TN on August 4, 2014

The minimum extension is 4-7/8" from your wall to the rear of the tube housing. The tube telescopes to 7-1/4" BUT this is unstable. I recommend, at least a 1" overlap, so the maximum extension would be 6-1/4". Telescoping lengths are easily adjustable with a single (barely visible) set screw. These dimensions work fine for bookcase interiors, but are too short to illuminate the interior from top side unless you have glass shelving.
By Kathryn from Mississippi on August 4, 2014

From where it is to be screwed into the back of a picture, it is about 6 inches. I think this would not work on a bookcase that is 11 inches deep. You will need one that is greater than the 11 inches from front to back, in my opinion.
By Mike from Reston, VA on August 4, 2014

The arm extends 6 inches from the picture frame where I have mine installed. The arm is bent to attach behind the frame, but I don't think the arm could be straightened enough to extend to 11 inches. It simply would not be long enough.
By Jerry from Phila suburbs on August 4, 2014

I get about 8-1/2" with it bolted to the back of a frame. I have it extended about as long as can be expected, but perhaps can squeeze another 1/2" max. You will have to make up something otherwise, such as use a metal wire strap to hold the wire tube to a shelf or top of the case.

I have a four panel Japanese screen. Will this light be sufficient for the width, 6 ft? The whole screen doesn't need to be highlighted. If this doesn't work what would you recommend?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on October 7, 2013

We generally recommend using this fixture for artwork approximately 28in wide. The rule of thumb for picture lights is that they properly illuminate 2x the width of the fixture.

To be safe, I would recommend using 2 lights.
