I would like to use these over recessed canned lighting. Are they heat resistant if placed flush over the can?

Answer:I have had approximately 20 for one year over small slightly ventilated fixtures outdoors and they have so far held up fine. They burn 6 hrs every day and even are rained on. My bulbs get very hot too. I continue to order more as they really make a pleasant difference.

Answer:I doubt they would work well but they might. They are basically a round flat cut piece of colored glass. They would have to be retained someway. Colored bulb would be much easier in my opinion.

Answer:The filter connects directly to the filter using a clasp I purchased separately from Pegasus Lighting. The bulb and filter get extremely hot but no issues thus far. The photo attached may help.

Answer:I used the filters in landscape lights with 10 watt halogen bulbs. I have had no problems and they create a great look. The glass is listed as thermal resistant. I am not familiar with different types of enclosures, but you might want to determine if the bulb you are using is appropriate for an enclosed housing. I think that putting the filter on the can could result in creating an enclosure.
