Not as good as the originals ones
January 12, 2014
Unless you want to bend the metal these are not ideal for horizontal mount. I had to add some extra wood to create a mounting surface. The original mounts allow for direct horizontal mounts. Several of the ones I received were a bit rusty - not that anyone will see them, but they shouldn't be rusty considering they are sold as stainless steal. They get the job done, just not as good or the original clips sold with the lights. Lastly, nothing here that I saw said they were sold in pairs. So I bought too many.

Not for Vertical Mounting
July 5, 2012
This clip is not interchangeable with the ones that come with each Microfluorescent T5 Light Fixture. I bought four T5 fixtures for an under-cabinet kitchen installation, and found I had only six clips. Two clips are needed for each fixture, so I ordered two of the Vertical/Horizontal clips. They have screw holes to mount horizontally, but do not have holes to mount vertically. The company should sell extra vertical clips like those included with the T5 fixtures.
Merchant Response:
While there are only 2 screw holes on this clip, you can position the clip either vertically or horizontally.

Does the job
May 21, 2012
Clips are small, simple, and straightforward as to what they are and do. I was a little confused at first because each clip only came with one mounting screw - you must use the mounting screw that comes with the vertical clips (with the light) as the second. They can also be a little challenging to get the light mounted initially, because the clip flexes as you press the light into it.
Pros:
Small Firm grip on light Simple
Cons:
Tight grip can make installing light challenging

Clips
April 1, 2012
The normal clips work the majority of the time. I ordered a few of these just in case. Glad I did, ended up using a couple.
Pros:
Nice having options
Cons:
If the screws would be of the self tapping nature, that would be cooler.

Fast and Competitive
November 8, 2011
I purchase some similar lighting products from a local store and they were much slower and a lot more expensive than Pegasus. Your Pegasus website is easy to use and the product specifications are readily available. Your prices are lower and your shipping is fast. Great service, keep up the good work!
Pros:
These stainless clips are good quality and really hold the Jesco T5 Microfluorescent lights (also from Pegasus) neatly and securely under my new kitchen cabinets.

Bracket Mounting
August 12, 2011
Longer screws should be provided for going through plaster to wood.
Pros:
Great idea. I used both styles.
Cons:
Loses tension after several in's and out's of the fixture.

Great way to mount horizontal
April 27, 2011
Did a great job of mounting light horizontally to minimize the amount of the fixture that extends below under counter installation.

Questions & Answers
By Randy from Hazleton, PA on November 13, 2012
Is this mounting clip what is used to mount the fixture? Do we need two per fixture?

We intend to construct a daylight ceiling using about 36,000 lumens indirect to produce 15,000 lumens at waist level. Fixtures will be behind a cove

By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on November 14, 2012

Answer:
Yes, two clips per fixture is correct for mounting our microfluorescent lights.

Your installation sounds great. We'd love to see pictures when it's complete.

The clip will hold the fixture in place, it snaps right into the clip. You will need to use old profile screws to attach the clips. Otherwise there is an interference problem. You will need at least 2 clips per light fixture. As far as the bounce affect of the light and the amount of light desired I think you will need to do some trial and error. Sorry I could not be more helpful about this.
By RL from NJ on November 14, 2012

Answer:
That is what I've used. You can use as few as two and slide them around on the fixture.
By Cindy from Macomb, IL on November 14, 2012

Answer:
Our fixtures came with 2 mounting clips (basically this piece less the side mount.) We didn't end up needing these. Style clip is dependent on your installation.
By Bob Bell from Austin, Texas on November 14, 2012

Answer:
Your question does not indicate which size or model of microfluorescent light you intend to be mounting.

I learned from personal experience that Pegasus item PSG-MC-VH (Vertical / Horizontal Mounting Clip for Microfluorescent Lights) is not a universal fit as it is too small for my T5 Low-Profile Lights.

From its dimensions, I conjecture that Pegasus item PSG-MC-VH is designed for T4 microfluorescent lights, but that information was not disclosed online when I placed my order..
By Jason from South Milwaukee, WI on November 14, 2012

Answer:
These are the optional ones. The ones that come with the fixture have one screw through the middle where the rivets are. Two are required per fixture.
By Debra from Coquille, OR on November 15, 2012

Answer:
I bought the 22" microfluorescent t4 fixture to try as under counter lighting. It came with 2 clips for vertical mounting. Since my cabinets have a net 3/4" reveal at the face frame bottom where I will be mounting the lighting I need to mount the fixtures horizontally, so I also purchased a vertical/horizontal mounting clip to see which worked better. The clips that come with the fixture do not have the thin flange attached to one side. In my case I will probably not use either and opt for Velcro instead since the lower tab on both clips sticks down too far and would be visible. I think either clip would work in most applications, the one sold separately does use two screws instead of one in the middle of the clip. I would think two clips would be OK per fixture since the fixtures are so light but maybe the manufacturer has recommendations for the longer fixtures. Hope that helps and your project comes out beautifully.
