An MR11 lamp has a multifaceted reflector inside to direct the light and is eleven eighths (11/8) inches in diameter. These are small low voltage light bulbs that traditionally use halogen as a light source. Halogen provides a bright, crisp white light that renders colors perfectly and is perfect for lighting artwork. However, halogen lamps do get quite hot during use. As the demand for LED lighting has grown, more and more MR11 light bulbs using LEDs have been introduced.
