MUCH Better Than Clips!
December 27, 2011
I wanted to put up rope lighting around the perimeter of my basement walls to offer ambient lighting without needing normal incandescent lighting. (My basement is basically an arcade, and soft lighting is needed). I've had the rope lighting from my previous residence and wanted to install it in my new residence, but I HATED those stupid, cheap clips that come with them. I found these channels and figured it would be FAR better than the clips. I was right! I drilled small holes through the base of the channel to screw it into the wall. No cracking and is solid. Putting the rope light in the channel is tight, but once it's in, it sits nicely without pinching. There's enough room that I can slide the rope lighting in it to situate the lighting right how I need it.
Yes, it's more costly than the little clips, but then again, you DO get what you pay for. This channeling is WELL worth the cost!
Pros:
Easy installation
Must better than clips
Holds lights nice and straight
Practically invisible when lights are on
Cons:
Nothing! It's just GREAT!
