Bright and does the job!
August 6, 2013
I searched for a long time to try and find a bright stair light. Finally found it. Two of these provide plenty of light for 6 stairs. So much brighter then the incandescent one (I know since I had one installed until I found this). Price is high considering what it does, but once you install it you should never have to replace it since its supposed to last a long time!

LED Mini Step Lights
March 24, 2013
I recently had the LED Mini Step Lights installed and they are just what I wanted and more. Family and friends love them just as much as I do and are interesting in purchasing the same lights. A cousin of mind who remodels homes thinks its one of the best he has seen for the price. Once I complete my new stair installation I would be happy to show pictures.
Pros:
Very classy look!

Works great!! Very bright.

I was very pleased with these stairway lights. Our home is only 2 years old and the lights the electrical contractor put in put out almost no light. Therefore we rarely ever turned them on. But now we use them all the time and don't require overhead lighting. Looking forward to the cost savings.
Pros:
Bright. Money saving.
Cons:
None

Bright, easy to install but wrong light
December 29, 2012
The LED mini step lights work great. Actually, they were too bright for my needs so I placed a piece of yellow mylar in between the LED's and the cover to tone them down. The order was received quickly as it was received in less time than promised. I would have given this 5 stars but the lens cover is no what I ordered. Now that I have installed and painted the lens, the louvered style goes away some so overall I am happy and would purchase from here again.
Pros:
Brightness Ease of installation
Cons:
Wrong lens style

Can I install it on floor of Auditorium? Or, could you recommend the suitable model for Auditorium floor?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on February 26, 2013

Answer:
I would recommend this step light for installing in a floor: http://www.pegasuslighting.com/led-in-ground-accent-light.html

How many to light a finished basement stairway adequately?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on February 26, 2013

Answer:
Bevin,

That will depend on a number of factors. How many total steps, dimensions of the steps, how bright you want the steps, etc.

Many customers have found that 1 light every 3 steps or so seems adequate.

Can this be used with a 3 way switch?

By Jess from Maine on August 23, 2014

Answer:
Yes. I have switches at the top and bottom of my basement stairs and it works fine.
By Albert from Bermuda on August 23, 2014

Answer:
Hi I have not installed it with a 3 way switch but I have no reason why it would not work. 3 way or 4 way switching should be fine.
By Keith from Savannah, GA on August 23, 2014

Answer:
Yes you can. It makes no difference single pole, 3 way, or 4 way.
By Sue from Omaha, NE on August 24, 2014

Answer:
Yes, you can use these with a 3 way switch. That's how ours are set up.
By Jerry from Chelan, WA on August 24, 2014

Answer:
Although I have a 2 way switch configuration and not a 3 way switch, I don't see why it should not work on a 3 way. I can tell you that I am extremely pleased with how bright these lights are and wished I had installed these three years ago when my house was built. I also inquired at my local lighting store regarding LED stair lights and found they wanted 5 times as much as I paid for them through Pegasus and that is no exaggeration.

Do they require an LED driver and will they work under the eave of your home to give a glow to the front of your house?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on August 15, 2012

Answer:
Chuck,

These step lights include the driver.

They can be mounted vertically or horizontally in a single gang wall box - so to me, it sounds like they would work in your application.
By DJ from Philadelphia on August 15, 2012

Answer:
No LED driver necessary. I wired them directly to an indoor switched circuit. They are very bright so at their full brightness (after a minute or so) it will be more than a glow. I use them in my basement stairwell.
By Paul from Orlando on August 16, 2012

Answer:
We used these LEDs to illuminate the treads on the internal stairway up to our condo, and they work perfectly. Because they are 120v, they needed no driver. We wired 4 off a single switch, and I think they would be great under the eaves to gently illuminate the front of a house.

By Rene from New Jersey on September 27, 2012
Can these be wired to a remote emergency light battery to turn on when power is lost?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on September 27, 2012

Answer:
Rene,

These lights require an input voltage of 120V. If the battery supplies this voltage as well, then I would think it would work.

We do have products that are designed to operate in case of a power outage. Check out these lights: http://www.pegasuslighting.com/readybright-power-outage-lights.html They might be better suited for your application.

By Scott from Calgary, Alberta on December 22, 2013
Has this product been reviewed and tested by CSA (Canadian Standards Association) or UL Canada?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on December 23, 2013

Answer:
Scott,

Yes, it's UL listed in the USA & Canada.

By Roy Gustaveson from Carmel, CA on September 24, 2013
We have existing low voltage stair lights. Can these be used with low voltage wiring?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on September 24, 2013

Answer:
Roy,

These are line voltage fixtures, so you will need to use wires rated for line voltage.

By Tom from CA on June 5, 2013
How many lumens? 1.4W total input power? Outdoor rated?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on June 6, 2013

Answer:
Tom,

The manufacturer does not publish lumen output for this item. This is pretty standard for a small fixture like this.

1.44 Watts

Outdoor or Indoor Use: UL and cUL listed for damp locations (Should not have direct exposure to water, rain, or snow)
