Great for Ceiling Fan
February 5, 2013
I needed something with more lumens than the original candelabra-based wimpy bulbs that came with our ceiling fan. These bulbs are rated at double the lumens and they REALLY work well!! We'll see how long that extra brightness lasts, but, 3 weeks into it, I am very pleased.
Pros:
Extra bright output. Smaller than the bulbs I replaced. Can be touched with bare fingers (unlike halogen).
Cons:
Price.

Great bulb
December 25, 2011
I have a ceiling fan that requires a physically small bulb. Had a very difficult time finding one. This bulb is fantastic. It is small but puts out 100 more lumens for the same wattage as the old bulbs.
Pros:
Same wattage as old bulb with more light. Should have longer life as well.

Questions & Answers
By Jerry from Colorado on November 10, 2014
How does this wattage output compare to halogen or incandescent lighting or LED? I'm looking to put them in a European fixture and need a lower wattage bulb that does not get as hot.
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on November 11, 2014

Answer:
Jerry, this is an incandescent source (halogen, xenon, krypton/xenon are all types of incandescent). It will get hot just like a 40W household light bulb would.

I have a light fixture that calls for 40 watt type b bulbs. Can this bulb work in that fixture?

Also, in regards to another fixture, assuming it works in fixtures that call for a candelabra bulb, correct.
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on September 11, 2013

Answer:
Elizabeth,

It has a candelabra base, so it will fit in fixtures that use candelabra bulbs of a comparable size.

It possibly will fit in your fixture that calls for B type light bulbs. It will depend on the diameter/length of the B type light bulbs it uses.

What are the dimensions of this bulb? I need to use in a chandelier where the shades have a "butterfly" clasp onto the bulb.
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on April 15, 2014

Answer:
The tube has a diameter of 3/8in.

The overall length is 2-7/16in.
