I have two Intermatics - one I bought and installed some time ago. I recently purchase the EJ600. I cannot get it to work. I want it to control two CFL lights on the front of my garage. I have identified the black (hot), white (load) and ground wires for this circuit. The wiring diagram in the supplied instructions are not clear as to where these wires should be connected to the Intermatic. I have found the instructions on the internet and then magnified them in an attempt to clarify the diagram. So far nothing I have tried has worked. Can you provide any helpful insights. Thanks.

In addition to the black, white, and ground wires, this timer requires a neutral wire. I am guessing that is why you are not able to get it to work properly.
Our installation instructions might be a little clearer - check them out here. It sounds like you are using a single switch setup.

Can this product be installed in a garage in place of a light switch that is installed inside a double electrical box? It would be used to control the outdoor garage lights from dusk to dawn. There would be another switch that controls the indoor garage light. Thank you.

Can this be used for an LED swimming pool light?
I would like to have my LED swimming pool light on a timer. It is an on/off switch, similar to a light switch.

Answer:Yes, it's suitable for LED lights. Note that this timer is for line voltage (120V) system.

Is the EJ600 or the El600 a compatible upgrade for the EJ500?
I need 3-way switch suitable for use new light bulbs and auto daylight savings feature.

Answer:I do not think the EJ600 would be a compatible upgrade because it requires a neutral wire whereas your EJ500 does not.
The EI600 works with CFLs, LEDs, and incandescent sources and does not require a neutral wire. It can be programmed for more events and it does have the auto daylight savings feature. It can be used as a 3-way switch.

Answer:The EJ600 is PERFECT for the upgrade! It can be wired for 3-way (per included instructions) and works well with CFL AND LED bulbs! That's why I just got one...UPGRADE!!
