  • Very Little Heat: gives off very little heat
  • What's Included With Each Fixture?
    (1) White Fluorescent Fixture with built-in quiet electronic ballast
    (1) High CRI T5 Fluorescent Light Bulb
    (1) plexiglass cover
    Mounting hardware

  • Light Bulbs Included: T5 fluorescent light bulbs included. [Caution: always be certain that the lamp is seated properly in both of its sockets. Be sure that both pins of each end are inside their respective socket and that the lamp is rotated 90 degrees once the pins are in the sockets. Failure to make good electrical contact between the pins and its socket may result in arcing and excessive heating of the socket.]
  • 2 Color Temperatures: choose from 3000K, warm white, or 4000K, cool white
  • Very Good Lamp Life: rated life is 20,000 hours on average
  • Excellent Color Rendition: high color rendering index (CRI) of 82+
  • End of Lamp Life: when a fluorescent light bulb burns out it is always a good idea to turn off the corresponding Microfluorescent fixture. Otherwise, the solid state ballast used inside that fixture can sometimes burn out while trying to start a bad light bulb.

  • Quiet Electronic Ballast: built-in lightweight electronic ballast provides instant-on starting with no flickering and cool quiet operation
  • Energy Efficient: uses only 8, 14, 21, 28, 35 watts of power/fixture respectively
  • Easy to Link Fixtures Together: can be installed as multiple units connected in line with direct connectors or flexible connecting cables of 6in, 12in, 24in, 48in, or 72in. These flexible connecting cables cannot be connected to each other to create a longer connection.
  • Several Fixtures May be Linked Together: maximum wattage in one “ganged” line is 245 watts
  • 2-Wire Non-Grounded: 2-wire non-grounded fixtures like these Hera Fluorescent T5 SlimLite XL Light Fixtures can be used for residential installations; on the other hand, 3-wire grounded microfluorescent fixtures are strongly recommended for projects that require grounding - especially commercial installations
  • Not Dimmable: these fluorescent fixtures are not dimmable

  • Very Easy to Install: easy to install with included 3 screw-in clips, then fixture snaps into place
  • Plug-In Electrical Connection: can easily be connected to power by using a 6ft white cord & plug adapter (sold separately).
  • Hardwire Electrical Connection: may be connected to power by using a special Hardwire Box (sold separately), that accepts a standard household wire and, in turn, can be connected to a T5 SlimLite XL fixture using a Flexible Connecting Cable. The T5 SlimLite XL fixtures cannot be hardwired directly to standard household wire without this special Hardwire Box; the profile of these T5 fixtures is simply too small. The dimensions of the Hardwire Box are 3-5/8in L x 2.25in W x 1-3/8in H.

A power cord OR hardwire box is required for connecting your SlimLite XL fixture to power. These items are sold separately.

  • 6ft Power Cord & Plug: with or without an on/off roller switch - one is required for plug-in electrical connections.
  • Hardwire Box: used for hardwiring system to power

  • Direct Connector: used to connect two fixtures end-to-end
  • Flexible Connectors: used to connect two fixtures together at various distances
  • Replacement T5 Fluorescent Light Bulbs

Easy to install, easy to use.
October 26, 2013
The Hera SlimLite XL is a modular, extendable and easily-installed fluorescent fixture that holds up well under constant use, day-in and day-out. The plug-in extension modules enable you to daisy-chain a series of any-size units to fit virtually any expanse.

Great, Even Lighting for Walls and Ceilings
April 22, 2013
I own a jewelry store and we use these lights in our wall cases. The lighting is even and bright, and the heat output is minimal. The unit is self-ballasted and can be plugged into any conventional outlet, and even run in series. The only drawback is that they do not last a very long time. They stop after about 2 years. But, dollar for dollar, still the best lighting we've found. I would recommend it!!
Even and bright
Short life span, especially when mounted vertically

Replacement for failed Hera T5 SlimLite XL Light Fixture
February 9, 2013
This product meets my needs except that one unit failed in less than a year (burned out ballast). They only come with a 90-day warranty. I hope this failure was an extremely infrequent occurrence.

Excellent item. Very thin. Fits in tight space. Easy to install with just the 3 clips. Lights up display case great.
Size and ease of installation
Little expensive since it does not come with a cord, bulbs or a cover. All sold separately.

Very simple install and was purchased at a lower cost than local lighting supply stores. I will continue to buy fixtures from this company in the future.

Questions & Answers
By Mike from Chicago, IL on April 16, 2015
Can the fixtures be mounted in a display case cooler?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on April 16, 2015

Mike, I would not recommend this product for that application. Fluorescent lights do not like being in the cold. I would suggest using an LED strip light instead.

By Jerry from Houston, TX on September 3, 2014
Can ballasts be replaced? If so, how?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on September 4, 2014

No, the fixture must be replaced.

By Trish Tunney from San Francisco on September 25, 2012
I have a glass display case. Can I attach these lights to the top?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on September 25, 2012

Yes, these lights will work well in your application.
By Gary with Certified Electrical Technologies from Rockville, MD on September 25, 2012

I cannot think of a code-approved method of attaching the fixtures to glass. The fixtures are supplied with mounting clips. The fixtures snap into the mounting clips. The mounting clips are typically attached to a surface (i.e. a shelf) with screws.
By Marc from West Dundee, IL on September 25, 2012

Yes, you can attach them anywhere. I have a store with over 100 SlimLites, and I have them running vertically and horizontally too. The only issue is heat build-up which can shorten the life of the fixture. Heat rises, and if your case is closed, I would recommend drilling a few holes in the top of the case to help dissipate the heat, especially if you plan to use the fixture at the top of the case.

Is the lens UV diffuser?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on May 22, 2013

No, it does not diffuse UV rays.
