Great hard to find item
April 7, 2014
Was looking for a light to display items in a curio. Was having trouble finding those type of lights locally. This smaller model is perfect for smaller and thinner storage cabinets.
Smaller size. Good construction and classy gold colored finish.
Wish the switch was located on the unit itself. The instructions talk about the ability to remove the plug so you don't have to drill such a large pass-thru hole when installing inside a cabinet. This is great but the off/on switch then is too large. I just removed it and cut the cord a bit shorter to reinstall the plug not a big deal since I leave the light on all the time anyway as a night light.

Fixture was perfect for our application
March 1, 2014
Fixture was as described. It fit perfectly into our curio cabinet and provided just the right amount of lighting for a smaller cabinet. Easy to install with the removable switch and plug through 3/8 drilled hole. Would recommend. Unfortunately, the switch was defective and had to be eliminated with the installation.

Ideal Lighting Solution for China Cabinet
January 10, 2014
The lights were perfect for our application. It took a little over an hour to install them on 3 shelves to get them just right for this perfectionist. The detachable plug comes in handy and saves on purchasing one separately. We didn't need the switch, so just cut it out of the line since it's closer to the plug, threaded it through the back of the cabinet, and reattached the plug. Wish we had found them years ago. Very pleased with the outcome, looks professional.
Nice looking Slim lines & smaller size allows more discreet installation Great quality Easy to install

What I expected -- with one flaw
October 29, 2013
The flaw: a rotary cord switch. I expected a rotary switch on the lamp itself. This is a real issue if the plug location is inaccessible in your application -- as it was mine. The cord switch is a few inches from the plug.

Good Description
June 5, 2013
Easy to install, the length of the cord, switch and plug removal for installation is perfect! Usually you have to cut a hole big enough for the plug to fit through.
Ease of installation, classic style . Well thought out components; removable plug & amp; switch to run cord through small hole.
The warmth the unit emits. I know it's the type of light bulb, but I don't like the lighting of alternative bulbs.

The size of the cabinet light was most important. Looked at many different lights, but none was as good for the price. The slim line light worked perfectly. Very impressed with shipping time. Very satisfied.

Curio Cabinet Lighting
July 28, 2011
The 7-inch 15-Watt Incandescent Slimline Cabinet Light was perfect for the little curio cabinet that I had purchased for my mother to display some of her pretty collectibles - sabino glass and birds. The light came within three days which was wonderful!
It is a nice soft light that is not too bright to light up the cabinet.
The light in the cabinet is left on all the time so the top of the cabinet is warm.

We searched all local stores to find this product to no avail. When we found it online, ordering process was simple and lights were received promptly.
Exactly what we needed for our china closet.

I had to add my own switch and the bulb is not centered right.
Merchant Response:
This cabinet light does come with an 8-foot cord and plug with an on/off switch on the cord. This customer chose to remove this and add his own switch because the location of the included cord and plug switch was not in a particular location for his specific installation. The included switch was not defective in any manner.
It works.
The switch is in the wrong place I had to add my own switch and the bulb is not centered good.

Questions & Answers
By Eric from Sacramento, CA on November 15, 2012
Is there also an on/off switch on the light itself?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on November 16, 2012

No, there is an on/off switch on the power cord
By PK from Springdale, AR on November 16, 2012

There is not a switch on the light itself, there is a wheel button on the (white) 9 foot cord 10 to 12 inches from the end with the plug.

One other thing of note, this is, indeed, a slim light that uses a small base tube bulb. I have not checked on the availability of replacement bulbs, but I am not anticipating a problem.

Is the 7 inch dimension the exact outside length of the light? Not counting the bracket. I only have 7.5 " to mount the light.
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on January 18, 2013

The bracket adds about 2 inches to the cabinet light for a total length of approximately 9in.
By Pat from NW Arkansas on January 18, 2013

Ouch... I'm afraid the 7-inch length is misleading. The brass housing itself, without the mounting bracket, is actually 7 11/16" including the screw holding the socket in place. Removing the end cap reduces this to 7 9/16. The total overall length is 9 3/8".

There is over 2" between the end of the bulb and the end of the housing, so, conceivably it could be shortened and the end cap discarded, or "glued" in place. (The end cap comes off easily enough, but uses a flange to hold it in place that would be removed if the housing were cut off.)

You can also easily remove the mounting bracket (held in place with the screw that attaches the bulb socket) and drill mounting holes through the housing. The cord does not come out the end, so that does not come into play with mounting, but it is a large white cord that is very " visible" - if that is a consideration.

How wide is the casing? I have a brass-and-mostly-glass display case with only 1 inch of covered space to mount and hide the light.
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on February 15, 2013

The light has a diameter of 1.25 inches.
By Pat from NW Arkansas on February 15, 2013

The casing is 1 3/8". Room for the cord outlet and the mounting bracket adds another half inch.

I have included a photo that shows the workings of the light a little better, which should help a lot.

I was looking over their stock, and found some LED light strips that would be better for your application, I think. I have not bought any, but wish I had found them before buying these.

Good luck with your project.
By Bill from North Garden, VA on February 19, 2013

Well, thanks, Pat! In your picture I can see the mounting bracket is an "L." I thought it was two flat in-line arms. I also assumed the cord came out between them, but not. Perhaps I could reshape the flange to come out in line with the housing. Or mount the housing directly with a brass screw. The cabinet is 2/3 glass from the top, then a slim brass divider wider than 1.25-in. but with only 1-in. flat mounting surface on the inside, then 1/3 glass to the bottom. It already has a round incandescent light in the ceiling, but the light is too weak by the time it gets to the bottom. The 1.25-in. housing would actually be fairly well hidden, however, since the eye is positioned well above it when looking into the case. Possibilities!
