Description of 5-Inch Line Voltage New Construction Recessed Lighting Housing

This five-inch new construction recessed lighting housing has an integral thermal protector, preventing improper installation. It's IC rated, which means it can safely be placed alongside or underneath insulation. It's also compatible with line voltage dimmers. This housing can be used in new construction or where there is access above the ceiling.

RECESSED HOUSING

• Dimensions: only 7.5in high x 7.25in wide x 10.5in long
• Ceiling Cutout: only 5.5in in diameter
• Bar Hangers: bar hangers are adjustable up to 24in for easy, nail-free installation
• Thermal Protector: integral thermal protector guards against improper lamping and installation
• Lamp Socket: socket clips directly to back of trim for perfect 90° vertical alignment of lamp socket
• Socket Positions: one or two socket height positions on trim allows for optimum light control and output
• Ceiling Insulation: ceiling insulation must be kept at least 3 inches away from all outside surfaces of the housing

LIGHT BULB

• Light Bulb: uses a 50-watt PAR20 or a 50-watt or 75-watt PAR30 halogen lamp (ordered separately on the Accessories tab). The specific lamp to be used is determined by the trim that is selected. ELECTRICAL FEATURES

• Junction Box: J-box is listed for through branch circuit wiring
• Knockouts: junction box has seven 1/2in knockouts and four knockouts with true pry-out slots
• Damp Location: housing is listed for damp location
• Feed Through: housing is listed for feed through
