Description of 5-Inch Line Voltage New Construction IC Air Tight Recessed Lighting Housing

This five-inch line voltage recessed lighting housing is air tight, dimmable, and UL approved for damp locations. It also is IC rated, which means it can safely be placed alongside or directly underneath ceiling insulation. This housing can be used in new construction with an insulated ceiling or where there is access above the insulated ceiling.

RECESSED HOUSING

• Dimensions: only 7.5in high x 7.25in wide x 10.5in long
• Ceiling Cutout: only 5.5in in diameter
• Bar Hangers: bar hangers are adjustable up to 24in for easy, nail-free installation
• IC-Rated: rated for direct contact with ceiling insulation; may be covered with insulation to save additional energy
• Air Tight Construction: complies with the strict Washington State Energy Code (WSEC) that restricts airflow through recessed lighting housings

LIGHT BULB

• Light Bulb: uses a 50-watt PAR20 or a 50-watt or 75-watt PAR30 halogen lamp (ordered separately on the Accessories tab). The specific lamp to be used is determined by the trim that is selected. ELECTRICAL FEATURES

• Thermal Protector: integral thermal protector guards against improper lamping and installation
• Lamp Socket: socket clips directly to back of trim for perfect 90° vertical alignment of lamp socket
• Socket Positions: one or two socket height positions on trim allows for optimal light control and output
• Junction Box: J-box is listed for through branch circuit wiring
• Quick Connectors: J-box is equipped with "quick connectors" for quick, easy push-in electrical connections. If the installer prefers to use wire nuts, the "quick connectors" may be easily removed.
• Several Knockouts: junction box has seven 1/2in knockouts and four knockouts with true pry-out slots
• UL Listed for Damp Location: this housing is UL listed for damp locations
• Feed Through: housing is listed for feed through
