Excellent Product
July 25, 2013
I have installed three different brands of recessed lighting, and this product is by far the best. The ease of installation was impressive as well as the quality of the fixture. Bypass the ones at Home Depot, this is what you want in your home.
Durable, impressive quality, easy installation

Easy to install, nice to have quick connects for wiring, solid can, not what I ordered but will work in other installations.
Merchant Response:
This product has always been described as an non-IC rated housing.
Nice solid can Wires nicely
Was not what it was advertised to be. Listed as IC originally on website but has since been corrected to just air tight.

You can count on Pegasus for great products and service!
January 2, 2012
We're doing a complete makeover of our kitchen. Pegasus has been a key partner throughout the process. We purchased a dozen under-cabinet fixtures. Terrific low-profile lights that the contractor appreciated for their ease of installation. When we decided on a dropped ceiling in the foyer we needed three recessed lights fast. Pegasus delivered the ideal fixtures three days later. Once again the contractor loved the ease of installation. And the trim rings are just right for our application. Thanks Pegasus! We know we can count on you.

Don't know why you would want to spend more
October 31, 2011
The light cans worked really well. Easy to connect to wiring, nice stick-on template for cutting the holes and a fairly easy to use clamping system. (Once you figure it out.) Don't know why you would want to spend more than this since these work just fine and the trim rings fit and look great.
Low cost
Clamping system took a bit to figure out.

Questions & Answers

Does this fit in a historic old home? Our house was built in 1905.
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on April 8, 2013

I do not know of any reason why this housing would not install in an old home. The only limitation is that it cannot be in contact in ceiling insulation.
By Smp from San Antonio on April 8, 2013

The thickness of the ceiling material is somewhat critical here. I believe they expect 5/8". Our ceiling was 3/4" thick, and getting the clips to latch was difficult. We had to use a screw in a couple of them. Also, the clearance above the ceiling and to the sides is somewhat critical (you need about a foot above and on one side and 1/2" around everywhere else), but you can "adjust" the connection to the metal electrical box slightly to accommodate a tight spot.

We coupled these with the 2700k, 650 lumen led retrofit trims. Very nice result.

BTW, If your house is on a historical registry or neighborhood, the local authorities may take a dim view (no pun intended) of these.

Can this product be used in the soffits of my roof outside?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on October 23, 2014

Since it's suitable for damp locations you should be OK because it's protected from direct water spray under the soffit.
By Matt from Cheshire, CT on October 23, 2014

It's an open fixture in the socket. I don't believe it is intended for outdoor use. That being said, you might get away with it if you used a "shower" trim on it. Of course that would cover the lamp with a glass lens, which might defeat the aesthetic look you're trying to achieve. There may purpose-designed fixtures for what you're trying to do.
