Great Fit

My electrician was very concerned that these would not work in the ceiling of our older home. We have an old ceiling covered by a new 1/2" drywall ceiling which brings the total depth to an 1 1/4". The housings held tightly and stayed in place.

This was easy to install and works very well. Used them in a kitchen over the sink to eliminate shadows and it really fills in the dark areas.
Easy installation

Questions & Answers

Can you use an LED bulb with this product and keep the dimmable feature?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on September 5, 2012

Yes, just make sure the light bulb is dimmable - for example, this LED MR16 lamp:

When using dimmable LED light bulbs, it's always a good idea to have more than one light on the dimmer. Compatible magnetic dimmers are generally designed to connect to at least 40 watts.

Good luck!

Hi, is the depth of this product suitable for use in a loft floor that is non-insulated and created with 2x4s?
By Jacob from Pegasus Lighting on October 15, 2014

Amy, it depends on how deep your floor is. Note that this light is less than 5in high.
By Justin from New York on October 15, 2014

Hi Amy,

If you look at the Specification Sheet you will notice Dimensions C shows the height of this fixture at 4 5/8" therefore it will not fit in your ceiling unless you drop the ceiling a couple inches. If you were installing this light I would recommend you ensure you have at least 5 1/2" of space to work with.

Also, keep in mind a 2" x 4" is not really a 2" x 4" piece of lumber, it is a nominal dimension, the actual dimension is smaller.

This fixture if one of the more "low profile" fixtures you will see with respect to recessed lighting. Unless you drop your ceiling a few inches your recessed light fixture selection will be extremely limited.

I hope this helps!
