Description of 3-Inch Low Voltage New Construction IC Recessed Lighting Housing

This three-inch recessed lighting housing is fully dimmable, UL listed for damp locations, and compatible with a wide array of decorative trims so you can hand-select your style. It is IC rated, so you can safely place it alongside or directly underneath ceiling insulation. Use this recessed housing in new construction or where there is access above the insulated ceiling.

RECESSED HOUSING

• Dimensions: 8-1/8in high x 6-3/8in wide x 16.0in long
• 3in Ceiling Cutout: only 3 inches in diameter
• Adjustable Bar Hangers: bar hangers are adjustable up to 24in for easy, nail-free installation; bar hangers are also T-bar compatible
• IC-Rated: rated for direct contact with ceiling insulation
• Housing Voltage: 120 volts

LAMPS

• Lamps: uses either a 12-volt MR16 halogen light bulb (20, 35, or 50 watts)
  or
  a 12-volt JC bipin halogen light bulb with a G6.35 base (30 watts)
  Lamps are ordered separately on the Accessories tab and the specific lamp to be used is determined by the 3-Inch Low Voltage Trim

ELECTRICAL FEATURES

• Integral Magnetic Transformer: integral magnetic Class H thermally-protected 12-volt transformer preinstalled to outside of fixture's junction box (J-box)
• Junction Box: J-box is listed for through branch circuit wiring
• Quick Connectors: J-box is equipped with "quick connectors" for quick, easy push-in electrical connections. If the installer prefers to use wire nuts, the "quick connectors" may be easily removed.
• Several Knockouts: junction box has two 1/2in knockouts and two 3/4in knockouts
• UL Listed for Damp Location: this housing is UL Listed for damp locations
